First Android-based Media Player and Digital Signboards Capable of Driving Scala Transition Effects
SITTARD, N.L. and IRVINE, U.S.A. (FEBRUARY 8, 2015) – IAdea, a leading provider of professional digital signage media appliances and digital signboards, will launch the industry’s first Android-based device certified by Scala to perform real-time transition visual effects. The new devices will be shown at Integrated Systems Europe, 10-12 February 2015, the RAI, Amsterdam at IAdea’s booth #8-H325 and Scala #8-F195.
Scala supports low-cost software license targeting non-PC, Android-based media players. Traditionally these devices provided mere minimum functionality for entry-level performance. As technology progresses, the new wave of devices from IAdea are now capable of displaying mainstream visual effects when using Scala software.
The newly certified devices include XMP-6200 and MBR-1100, a pair of media players drawing less than 10 watts of power. A pair of new digital signboards, XDS-1070 and XDS-1078, will include enhanced-brightness displays for shelf and tabletop placement, powered by the same high-performance hardware. The XDS-1078 further includes touch screen, Power-over-Ethernet, and flashing light bars for use as interactive conference room signage.
IAdea will also be launching a customization service to supply open-frame digital signboards with virtually any size of display.
“We appreciate that Scala dedicated the resources to bring out the best of IAdea’s digital signage platform,” says Rex Chen, Executive VP of IAdea. “IAdea strives to provide alternative hardware technology to complement great software from our partners.
